WWR Report

by on August 15, 2012

This offensive image was taken last night outside our clubhouse. The leg belongs to Lisa, who chose to mock & shame us all by wearing another club’s colours.  She claims to have received these socks for signing up for an MCA citizen license at a recent team time trial. Whatever.

In addition to wearing a logo that is NOT ours, (’cause we still have yet to come up with something cool) Lisa is also wearing new cycling shoes that work very well with her new bike–allegedly “the first women’s specific ‘cross bike on the market.” Whatever.

Next week, we may see Julia’s new bike at the clubhouse. Clearly, the women of Altona are willing to invest in gear that makes cycling even more enjoyable.

This is great news because our club’s one year anniversary is coming up and it has been suggested that we all go for a ride to celebrate. The WWR post-ride discussion included a brief mention of the Sept. 8th fundraiser known as Head for the Hills

Leave a comment and let us know if you’re keen to commit to raising $$$ and riding in this event.

Other topics discussed: Joanne gave us the scoop on riding in the rain & mud at the Back 40 MTB race; tears & trauma when crossing the border at Neche, and tales from other international frontiers; Mexico’s Green Angels, CX season and race categories.

  • Shout out to Steve B–his colorful Norco drew me to the clubhouse like a beacon
