Cycling in the Snow

by on November 12, 2012

Hats off to Franklin and Bethany for opening their lovely home to us for a memorable Country Cross 2012. It was an extremely challenging course–only the hardiest of riders pushed through the snow to complete 2 laps on the picturesque, 8-acre property. An impressive turn-out of Winnipeggers fought past the Perimeter to join the race–almost doubling the number of female riders–cool.

Johnny’s got pictures and the race report over on the ABES blog. Looking forward to seeing Bethany’s photos too–thanks again for the world-class hospitality!

Highlights: Mitten-eating pigs, Cindy’s heated boots, Mia’s gritty determination in the kid’s race, Gavin’s equipment failure & plan B pluck, and the vat of hot chocolate–mmmm!

Tuesday night is coming up soon, so dash out to Altona Farm Service and get yourself a pair of heated boots, or at least make sure you and your bike are ready for snowy and slippery conditions.
