Cyclist/Councillor

by on January 5, 2013

Very cool to open the weekly paper and see an ad for our very own globetrotter, educator and cycling enthusiast, Joanne Wiebe. Joanne is running for Altona Town Council–maybe you’ve seen her Facebook page, or read about her priorities.

Joanne obviously has her act together and is doing her best to get the word out prior to the election–every woman I’ve spoken to here in Altona knows that Joanne is a candidate.

Unfortunately, all the ads & blogs and effort are useless–unless you go out and vote. Vote with a buddy–make the time to pick up your elderly aunt/cousin/friend and get them to the Pioneer Centre on election day January 16th. You can also vote early at the Town office on January 11th from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. — don’t forget your driver’s license or other photo I.D.

Good intentions DON’T win elections. Make sure you exercise your right to vote.
